Smart Samarin — memory games with cards, numbers and arrows

Feel like setting the news aside, stopping the scroll and giving your mind something to do? Smart Samarin offers a simple way: free memory games, attention tasks and short reaction challenges, right in your browser.

Here you take part: remember a target, find a number, match pairs or choose the right action at the right moment. One game lasts about a minute. Start with three games in three minutes, without turning practice into a chore.

What is Smart Samarin?

Smart Samarin is a collection of 18 browser games for practising memory, attention, thinking and reactions. Developed by Studio Samarin, they offer a clear interface for computers, tablets and phones.

Choose guest mode and start. No registration is needed to try, and there are no ads interrupting play. To save results and return to your history, choose a player account or sign in with Google.

What skills do the games practise?

Memory: retaining and recalling information

Games such as Remember the Target, Dutch Pairs, Remember the Shelf and What Came Before? use items, pairs and sequences. You remember information from the game and use it later, rather than relying only on what is currently visible.

Attention and thinking: finding the right detail

Find a Number, Identical Pictures, Find a Picture and Numbers in Order ask you to focus on details and distinguish between choices. Word and Colour and Letter and Number add rules you need to follow when choosing a response.

Reaction and coordination: linking sight and action

Catch the Moment, Canal Boats, Quick Sorting and Drive and Collect offer reaction and coordination tasks. Notice what is happening on screen and choose the appropriate click or movement, combining visual attention with a timely action.

Why give your mind a challenge?

We think of movement and exercise as part of everyday life. Activities involving concentration, recall and learning can also make a day more varied. A short game can replace a few minutes of scrolling with decisions, feedback and a challenge.

The Israeli Ministry of Health explains that cognitive practice involves concentration, memory, planning and problem-solving and can include computer games and apps. Its guidance stresses variety and consistency. Games are one option alongside learning, social activities, movement and other interests.

What does research say about brain training?

The ACTIVE study, published in 2014, involved 2,832 independently living older adults. Participants practised memory, reasoning or processing speed in structured programmes. At the ten-year follow-up, benefits remained in the trained domains for reasoning and processing speed; improvements in memory performance were not maintained at that follow-up.

These findings apply to the programmes and outcomes studied. The research provides context for cognitive practice, but did not test Smart Samarin and does not prove that this game improves abilities outside its tasks. Here you can enjoy short challenges and practise the skills they require.

Start playing in three steps

  1. Open the game: visit Smart Samarin in your desktop or mobile browser.
  2. Choose how to play: guest mode lets you try immediately without registering; a player account saves results.
  3. Pick a short challenge: start with one game or the three-games-in-three-minutes option, read the instructions and play at your own pace.

Mix memory, attention and coordination tasks. Return to games you enjoy, try others and see how your performance on the same task changes. A perfect score is not required to enjoy playing.

Memory games for adults — and anyone who enjoys a challenge

The collection suits adults looking for short thinking games, a shared family activity or an active screen break. Play alone, compare experiences or help one another understand the instructions. Choose a comfortable task and level, without pressure.

The interface includes 11 languages, including Hebrew, English, Russian and Dutch. Choose a convenient language and try the games that interest you. Guest mode does not save results; registered players can return to their history.
